1. Overview
| Data type | Where it is stored / processed | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Drive records and routes | Your device | Core drive log, route display, and statistics |
| Analytics events | Google Firebase Analytics | Understand feature usage and improve app quality |
| Crash reports | Google Firebase Crashlytics | Diagnose crashes and fix bugs |
| Remote configuration | Google Firebase Remote Config | Safely adjust app configuration such as export defaults |
2. Data stored on your device
DashLog stores the following data locally so the app can show your driving history and statistics:
- Drive start and end time
- Distance, duration, average speed, and maximum speed
- GPS route points, including latitude, longitude, timestamp, and speed
- Start and end address labels when reverse geocoding is available
- App preferences and locally cached premium status
This local data is not uploaded to DashLog. If you delete a drive in the app or remove the app from your device, local data may be deleted and may not be recoverable unless you separately backed it up.
3. Analytics and diagnostics
Firebase Analytics
DashLog may log app events such as app launch, screen navigation, feature usage, paywall display, purchase flow events, and export actions. Events may include app version, build number, premium status, device and operating system information, approximate region, app instance or installation identifiers, and event parameters needed to understand app behavior.
DashLog does not intentionally include your precise location, drive route, name, email address, or contacts in Firebase Analytics events.
Firebase Crashlytics
If the app crashes or encounters an unexpected error, Crashlytics may collect crash stack traces, error messages, app version, build number, package name, device and operating system information, custom diagnostic keys, and recent app state relevant to the crash.
DashLog uses crash reports to find and fix stability issues. We do not intentionally attach precise GPS routes to crash reports.
Firebase Remote Config
DashLog may use Remote Config to fetch app configuration values such as export defaults. This helps us tune behavior without requiring an app update.
4. Data not sent to DashLog
DashLog does not operate a backend server that receives your personal drive archive. In particular, DashLog does not intentionally send these items to DashLog:
- Precise GPS route history
- Your contacts, messages, or photos
- Your name, email address, or phone number, unless you later contact us directly through a support channel
5. Third-party services
DashLog uses third-party SDKs and platform services. Their processing is subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
| Service | Use | Link |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase Analytics | App usage analytics and event measurement | Firebase data collection |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and error diagnostics | Firebase privacy and security |
| Google Firebase Remote Config | Remote app configuration | Firebase privacy and security |
| Google Maps SDK | Display maps and route previews in the app | Google Privacy Policy |
DashLog does not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
- Local drive data: remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
- Analytics and crash data: retained according to the relevant Firebase project settings and Google's service policies.
- Support messages: if you contact us directly, we may retain the message as needed to respond and keep support records.
Because DashLog does not maintain user accounts or a server copy of your drive archive, deleting local app data from your device is the main way to delete your drive records.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can delete individual drive records in the app where deletion is available.
- You can revoke location and notification permissions in your device settings.
- You can uninstall the app to remove local app data from the device, subject to your operating system backup settings.
- You can contact us to ask privacy questions or request information about data associated with a support request.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal data.
8. Children's privacy
DashLog is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support channel, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes or as legal requirements change. When we update it, we will revise the effective date and make the updated policy available through the app or distribution page.
